A fan favourite no matter the paddock, Sam Fries was loved by everyone and we are deeply saddened to confirm his passing on Sunday, June 21.
Hailing from Sacramento, California, Sam spent a lot of time on the road travelling to kart races accompanying a multitude of race teams, most recently Rollison Performance Group. He passed away from heart complications on Sunday and will be deeply missed.
We met Sam last summer at the Rotax CAN-AM Karting Challenge event in Chilliwack, British Columbia and immediately felt the positivity and excitement that he lived his life by. A story for every situation, the ability to cheer up a driver no matter the result and the friendly voice heard across the paddock, everyone loved Sam.
May you rest in peace Sam, the karting community already misses you.
