Le Circuit Quyon Amped Up for 2015 Season

Last weekend, Le Circuit Quyon opened its gates to its club members for the first time since the end of its tremendously successful 2014 season. The Circuit Quyon Karting Club (LCQKC) is one of Canada’s fastest growing clubs, and its racers compete for class honours in the Ottawa-Gatineau Karting Championship (OGKC). Le Circuit Quyon, located 45 minutes west of Ottawa, is an 850 metre purpose-built track that hosts the OGKC events.

Track owner Paul Lalonde is amped up for the 2015 racing season, and is pleased to be hosting the OGKC for the third successive year. He is also very excited to be fronting the LCQ / Margay Canada race team. Working very closely with the American built chassis manufacturer Margay, LCQ / Margay Canada will be fighting for the top step of the podium at the local, regional, and national level, with plans to compete in the OGKC, the Eastern Canadian Karting Championship (ECKC), and the ASN Canadian Karting Championships at Mosport (amongst other events).

He is excited to welcome Nicholas Martin back to the Margay Canada team, joining Charlotte Lalonde and Michael Forget in the Briggs & Stratton Senior category. Expectations are high for this season, and the team is bristling with confidence in its Margay product line. LCQ / Margay Canada are looking to grow the team, and drivers interested in participating in any events this summer should contact LCQ immediately, with drivers in all categories welcome.

Lalonde has also been hard at work this winter away from the race team, launching an online store for LCQ / Margay Canada, and urges everyone to visit www.margay.ca for all their karting needs.

“It has been an unusually long winter here in Canada’s Capital Region, but the race season is finally upon us,” Lalonde exclaims. “We have another very busy summer ahead of us, with plenty of races big and small, and I’m really looking forward to it. The LCQKC and OGKC are both showing signs of growth and I am very proud of that. Our Briggs & Stratton Masters class is going to be huge this year!”

“The smell of the engines firing up last weekend sent chills down my back,” continued Lalonde. “Even though we managed to get down to Florida for a race this winter, everyone here at Le Circuit Quyon has been waiting for the first day at our track. This is going to be an awesome year.”

The track is officially open! Come on down!

Le Circuit Quyon is also proud to be an affiliated track of the inaugural Briggs & Stratton Weekly Racing Series (WRS), where race results will be compared against other racers and tracks participating in the WRS across North America.

“I am a huge ambassador of the Briggs & Stratton program. Just look at the four-cycle racing in Canada over the past few seasons, it has been unbelievably close, especially the Nationals! The new WRS continues to showcase the investment Briggs & Stratton are making in the sport and I can’t wait to see what David Klaus (Director – Briggs & Stratton Racing) has next up his sleeve.”

Action will begin this weekend at LCQ with a Test & Tune session scheduled for April 25 and 26. Drivers are invited to come shake down their equipment and LCQ will also be offering three one-hour maintenance clinics over the weekend free of charge, which will focus on chassis set-up, clutch and engine maintenance, and driving techniques.
