Mini-Max
The Mini Max picks by our analysts by our panelists have been dominated by a pair brothers.
Topping our list in Mini-Max is Michael d’Orlando. The young driver has been on a roll this season winning races at Florida Winter Tour, ECKC and on the SKUSA Pro Tour. Michael has been developing his talent during the last two seasons under the tutelage of Mike Maurini, a fellow Canadian who operates the KoeneUSA race team. There is no doubt that he will be at the front of the field throughout the weekend.
Michael’s younger brother Nicholas holds the second highest ranking in our predictions and was even picked by one to overcome his brother and take the victory, like he did earlier this year at ECKC Mosport. Nick has been able to match his older brothers pace at events across North America teeing up a great battle between the brothers this week.
Third on the list is Alexandre Legare who is enjoying a decent rookie year in Mini-Max after joining PSL Karting at the end of last season. Legare has been consistently in the top-five through out the year and can challenge for a podium if all goes his way.
Ryan MacDermid has really come into his own as the season progresses and he was rewarded with a victory at Le Monaco de Trois-Riveres. At the Goodwood round he began working with American karting ace Stepanova Nekeel and it has helped enormously. We believe that Macdermid will definitely be in the battle for a podium position this weekend as he intends to give the d’Orlando’s a run for their money.
Some honourable mentions in the category include Xavier Harris, William Chayer and Carson Vogel. Harris and Chayer have had some strong performances this season but haven’t had the results like Legare has delivered in his first year in Mini-Max. On the other hand Vogel enters as the current WCC champion in the category, but he will be put to the test this weekend as he battles with some east coast titans.
