Taylor Gates Recovering After Scary Crash at ECKC Mosport

Many of those in attendance at the Eastern Canadian Karting Championship witnessed a very scary incident during the Rotax Senior prefinal where Taylor Gates found himself and his kart flying through the air between corners two and three. The vicious incident created a long delay as the medical staff evaluated Gates and Marco Di Leo before Gates was transferred to the local hospital for further evaluation.

We are happy to report that Gates returned to the track on Sunday, albeit with a temporary cast on his ankle. He was in a good spirits and even joined us in the CKN lounge to watch some of the action and update us on his condition.

The result of his accident was a broken bone in his ankle that he will have re-evaluated on Friday, a concussion and road burn on his back.  As you can see from the photo, the results from the accident could have been much worse.

We want to wish Taylor a quick recovery and hope to see him back on track in the near future!
