We are very pleased to introduce Graci Young, our newest addition to the Canadian Karting News family! Hailing from Pictou, Nova Scotia, Graci will author her blog “Talk to the Helmet” exclusively on CKN this year. The 14-year old will blog about her race experiences throughout the summer, keep the CKN Nation up to date on whats happening on the East Coast, along with some special features exclusively for CKN readers.
“I’m so excited to have Graci join the CKN team,” exclaimed CanadianKartingNews.com Editor Cody Schindel. “She brings forward a true passion for the sport and a refreshing view on everything happening around us.”
Some of you will recognize Graci from the CKN Driver Diary she wrote after last years ASN Canadian National Karting Championships. She is an active Briggs & Stratton racer and will compete this year aboard a PSL Moncton powered CRG Kart in local, regional and national races in Briggs & Stratton Junior.
“As a very popular feature on CKN we wanted to expand our CKN Driver Diary program this year and set a couple full time bloggers for our readers to be able to interact with and follow along in their karting lives,” Schindel continued. “But don’t worry, we will still have guest bloggers from coast to coast all year long.”
“It feels like making it through turn one at Nationals without becoming one with another kart, so awesome,” smiled Young from her home in Nova Scotia. “I’m so excited and grateful to be given the opportunity to write on CKN for the 2014 season.”
Her blog will reflect not only the Driver Diary from races she competes in throughout the summer, but she is also going to blog about her experiences as a new driver to the sport (she is only in her third year of karting), among other aspects.
She continued, “my blogs will range from a variety of topics including the track environment, the good, the bad and the ugly from race weekends, an overall conclusion of the previous race days, the offseason depression & pre-season pump up, as well as more personal blogs that any driver an relate to! I hope to promote karting largely in the East Coast and as well as the female population (Danica clearly isn’t doing much good). I can’t wait to work with Cody and the CKN crew and get revved up for the season!”
“It was very important to us to help push the CKN brand from coast to coast,” explained Schindel. “Having Coltin [McCaughan] as our CKN Brand Ambassador from the west and now Graci from the East we are continuing to show that CKN truly is Canada’s leading national news and information website.”
