9 Races on Tap for 2015 Coupe du Quebec Championship

The Canadian season is edging closer with every calendar day passing by and the organizers of the Coupe du Quebec championship have finally confirmed their official schedule for the 2015 campaign. This season will feature nine races over six race weekends, which is an additional two points races counting towards the overall championship. Three new locations have been added to the roster and once again the series will race side by side with the Eastern Canadian Karting Championship for two weekends.

A serious chunk of the action occurs in the months on May and June as SRA Karting will host a double-header season opener on May 9 and 10 to get things underway. Round two will run in support of the Eastern Canadian Karting Championship at Point du Lac located just outside of Trois-Rivieres on June 13 and 14. Point du Lac hasn’t been on the Coupe du Quebec schedule since 2011. The third round is the first single header event where teams and drivers will compete at the picture-esc Karting Thetford Mines, located due east of Trois-Riveres on June 28.

A long summer break has the schedule broken up into two parts as the championship takes two months off and resumes in September at the new SC Performance karting track in Saint-Celestin on September 7. Two weeks later the series joins the ECKC for another double-header at the Jim Russell Karting Academy in Mont-Tremblant before closing out the year and crowning their championships at SH Karting on October 5.

Missing this year is events at Karting Chateau-Richer as well as the popular Le Monaco de Trois-Rivieres street race.

It appears the class structure will stay the same with a full lineup of Rotax classes along with Briggs & Stratton Junior, Senior and Masters.
