2016 Canadian Kart Racing Season Ramps Up with Rounds 1 and 2 of the Eastern Canadian Karting Championships at Goodwood Kartways on May 20 & 21.
ECKC has it all for the Canadian kart racers and tuners alike that have honed their club racing skills and are eagerly awaiting bringing their game to the gates of National level competition.
At Goodwood, the “who’s who” of the Canadian karting scene erect their pop-ups or team facilities, show off their 2016 equipment and clothing and settle in to pave their path to the podium and the inevitable photo-ops.
Goodwood is a worthy track for the first event. The Di Leo’s are very proud of their oldest continuously operating kart racing track in North Anerica and the grooming is underway.

“It’s quite exciting and adrenalin-pumping watching things come together at the first major event of the season” says Paul Cooke of Canada’s sanctioning body, ASN Canada FIA.
Not only the competitors get prepared for the first event so do the officials like Steward Norman Jennings, Race Director Bill Oakman and Technical Director Brian Campbell. In addition the ASN office folks Cheré Cooke and Michelle Williston are busy readying the technical equipment and paperwork necessary to support the Technical Inspectors.
“The ECKC event and track operating officials are experienced and competent and with Patrick Moreau back again supervising the Series we can look forward to more great kart racing” summarized Paul Cooke.
