The Waterloo Regional Kart Club gets ready to hold the largest 4 cycle race in Canada

The Oktoberfest Grandprix has been one of the longest standing traditions in Ontario karting. The 33rd running of this great event will take place on Saturday October 11th. The list of people who have attended and won the Grandprix is a who’s who of Karting in Ontario. The race will feature Honda 4 cycle classes for Cadet, Novice, Jr. Lite, Jr. Heavy, Sr. Lite, Sr. Heavy and Masters. The weight for the Sr. Lite race will be 320 pounds.

This year to make the event available to even more karter’s the WRKC will be running Briggs & Stratton Junior and Senior Classes, based on ECKC Rules. With a practice session on Friday October 10th from 3pm to 6:30 pm visitors from other clubs will have lots of time on the track prior to Saturday’s race.

As has been the case for years race winners will be rewarded for their efforts with both prizes and trophies. There will be door prizes for all registered drivers, and everyone gets a goody bag at registration. This is sure to be a great day of fun and racing, and is a great way to finish off the 2014 karting season.

The registration form for the race is available on the club’s website at www.wrkc.on.ca. The deadline for early registration is September 13th. All registered by that date will receive a free event t-Shirt. The Briggs & Stratton Races will go ahead if we have 10 racers registered in each class by the 13th.

On race day there will be a practice session followed by a qualifying session that will determine the starting order for the pre-final. The starting order for the final race to declare the winners.
The practice fee on Friday will be $30.00, and the race fee is only $75.00. On race day the gates will open at 7:00 am, registration will open at 7:30 am, please note registration will close at 8:45 am. The first practice session will begin at 9:00 am.

The Oktoberfest Grandprix is being sponsored by Neely Auto Service Ltd. They are located in Hornby Ontario.
