PR: Defrancesco Racing Prepares to Attack SKUSA SuperNationals

After competing in both North America and Europe throughout the 2012 racing season, DeFrancesco Racing (DFR) team drivers Devlin and Lachlan DeFrancesco are set to make their attack on the sixteenth annual SuperKarts! USA (SKUSA) SuperNationals. Taking place in the parking lot of the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino, Devlin will move to the talent-laden TaG Junior division while Lachlan will look to battle hard in the ultra competitive TaG Cadet class.

“Both Devlin and Lachlan are coming off excellent seasons where they garnered race wins, podium results and represented their sponsors well in United States, Canada and Europe,” explained Team Manager and Driver Coach Nick Mitchell. “The entire DFR crew has confidence that both drivers will continue their 2012 performances at the biggest event of the season.”

After claiming multiple podiums and race wins at the Formula Kart Productions Florida Winter Tour in early 2012, Devlin jet set his way to Europe to compete in the WSK Euro program and several other high profile events. Heading to Canada in mid-August for the annual Canadian Karting Championships, Devlin continued to add to his number of international podiums by claiming the vice-championship in the Rotax Mini Max class.

Lachlan, on the other hand, would only travel to compete in Italy on two different occasions and would stay in South Florida to hone his skills on American soil. Competing at tracks throughout the state of Florida, Lachlan would move to the Mini Max class in March of 2012 and battle some of the country’s best. Impressing in his debut in the class, Lachlan would run at the front of the international field throughout the weekend.

Fast forward to November and the DeFrancesco duo is set to hit the track once again. Competing on the biggest stage of them all, the annual SKUSA SuperNationals, Devlin will make his debut in the 80 kart strong TaG Junior field while Lachlan will battle the same number of karts in TaG Cadet. Competing on a temporary circuit just off ‘The Strip’ in Las Vegas, the DeFrancescos will look for their natural skills and abilities coupled with international experience to stand on the top step of the podium.

Mitchell continued, “Both Devlin and Lachlan have grown as drivers, competitors and role models throughout the season. They both support their sponsors with the class and I would like nothing more to help them secure a win at the SuperNationals.
