Nepveu Prevails in ECKC Mini-Max Finals

Two young drivers displayed excellent poise this weekend at the Eastern Canadian Karting Championship, sweeping the competition in their respective classes on the tight confines of the Goodwood Kartways circuit.

Saturday

In Mini-Max, Thomas Nepveu (BirelART) showed that his preparation for the season at the US Open race a month ago paid off as he hit the ground running.

On Saturday Nepveu was challenged by American Chloe Chambers (Expirit), who qualified on the pole-position and won the PreFinal. But in the Final Nepveu chased down the leader and took advantage early, ultimately pulling away when Chambers began to battle with Justin Arseneau (BirelART) for second place. At the line, Nepveu crossed a half second up on Chambers with Arseneau third.

Sunday

Once again Chambers was on the pole-position Sunday, but the racing was a different story as Nepveu took control of the Prefinal and the Final, he was just no match for his competitors.

Leading the first lap, Nepveu broke free from Arseneau while Dale Curran Jr. (BirelART) battled with Chambers for third.

After disposing Curran, Chambers battled with Arseneau for the second day in a row, but this time she was unable to overtake her teammate before the checkered flag flew.
