FWT: Caio Collet Wins in Mini-Max; Jak Crawford Takes Micro-Max

In a pair of great races by the youngest categories competing at the Florida Winter Tour, Brazillian Caio Collet (RPG/Kosmic) and American Jak Crawford (Birel) claimed victories in Mini-Max and Micro-Max on Sunday in Orlando.

Collet broke out to an early lead and never looked back en route to his first win of the season with Harry Coulton (MRP/Birel) being overtaken by Mexican Emiliano Richards (Birel) in the closing stages to complete the podium.

Leading the Canadians on hand, Michael d’Orlando (KoeneUSA/TonyKart) was fourth, Matthew Latifi (Ferrolati Corse/TonyKart) seventh, Nicholas d’Orlando (KoeneUSA/TonyKart) twelfth, Xavier Harris (Goodwood/Intrepid) sixteenth, Matthew Barry (Praga) 23rd, and Ryan MacDermid (Energy Kart) was 29th.

Crawford on the other hand, had his hands full as Sebastian Montoya (Birel) overtook many times for the race lead. But Crawford made the right moves on the final lap and scored the big win in a drag race to the finish line, crossing a mere 0.025 seconds ahead of Montoya. Canadian Thomas Nepveu (SH Racing/FA Kart) was third.

Joshua Cunha (Goodwood/Intrepid) was fourth, Patrick Woods-Toth (PSL/CRG) sixth and Jeremy Tallon (KMS/Birel) was tenth to wrap up the Canadian drivers.
