MONACO DE TROIS-RIVIÈRES - ARROW RACE REPORT
	St-Roch-de-L'Achigan, July 26th 2010. The Monaco street race of Trois-Rivières took place last weekend. Like the famous Formula One Monaco circuit, the Trois-Rivières karting track is bordered by water and drivers must drive through a tunnel. Within a few seconds, drivers pass from sunlight to darkness and then, to sunlight again. Team SRA Karting attended the event to support Arrow drivers. They had good results with one win, Vincent Cyr’s win in Honda Senior, and Christophe Boisclair’s second place in the Pro Shifter class. Honda Senior No less than seven drivers from the KDM / Arrow racing team registered in this class amongst thirty-eight entries. The battle was close, because many drivers in this class where aiming for first place but no one shone more than the other. In the final race, Vincent Cyr, starting 6th, climbed position after position and took first place on lap 11th to win the race. Four of his teammates also finished in the top 10: Amélie Lafontaine (5th), Marc-Olivier Rouleau (8th), Michel Turcotte (9th) and Shawn Dos Santos (10th). Rémy Leblanc could have finished in the top 10 finishers because he had started the race in the 7th spot on the grid but contact ended his race, as well as Daniel Desrosiers. Pro Shifter Jean-François Lafontaine and Christophe Boisclair were registered in this class. The two SRA/Arrow/TM drivers showed their speed all weekend long. “We are not used to run in shifter karts and we were here to have fun. The results were excellent if we look at the experienced shifter drivers competing against us” said Boisclair. In the first qualifying session, Boisclair was 2nd and Lafontaine 4th. In the second qualifying, Lafontaine was 3rd and Boisclair 5th. In the pre-final race, Lafontaine was on fire. After he lost a spot on the start, he was flying on the track and finished second, behind the winner Gary Carlton, after setting the fastest lap during the race. Boislair had to give up on lap 4 after contact with the security barriers. In the final race, Lafontaine started on the first row while Boisclair started 17th. On lap 4, Lafontaine’s engine seized. During this time, Boisclair was gaining places and at the end of lap 3, he was already 5th! After many laps in the same position, he got a few other spots and after a long fight with Frank Launi, Boisclair crossed the finish line second. Rotax Masters, Rotax DD2 et Rotax Mini-Max: In the Rotax Masters class, Sébastien Lafond finished 6th. In the Rotax DD2 class, Arrow drivers Corey Walsh and William Lalonde finished repectively 10th and 13th. In Rotax Mini-Max, Richard Rozmarynovicz finished 9th after starting 17th. The next race for Team SRA Karting will be the 4th round of the Coupe de Montréal, on August 7th at Mont-Tremblant. MONACO DE TROIS-RIVIÈRES - RAPPORT DE COURSE ARROW St-Roch-de-L'Achigan, le 26 juillet 2010. Le Monaco de Trois-Rivières a eu lieu cette fin de semaine au centre-ville. Tout comme l’illustre circuit de Formule Un, le circuit de karting de Trois-Rivières est en bordure de l’eau, soit le fleuve St-Laurent et emprunte un tunnel où les pilotes passent de la clarté du jour à la pénombre en une fraction de seconde pour revenir à la lumière éblouissante. L’équipe de SRA Karting était sur place pour supporter les pilotes Arrow. Les portes-couleurs de la marque australienne ont bien fait avec une victoire, soit celle de Vincent Cyr en Honda senior et la deuxième place de Christophe Boisclair en Pro Shifter. Honda Senior Pas moins de sept pilotes aux couleurs KDM Racing / Arrow étaient inscrits dans cette catégorie qui regroupait trente-huit participants. Plusieurs pilotes aspiraient aux grands honneurs de cette catégorie et aucun n’a pu se démarquer des autres tellement la lutte était serrée. Parti sixième sur la grille de départ, Vincent Cyr a gagné les positions une à une pour prendre la commande de l’épreuve au 11è tour et remporter la victoire. Quatre de ses coéquipiers ont aussi terminé dans les dix premières positions soit Amélie Lafontaine (5è), Marc-Olivier Rouleau (8è), Michel Turcotte (9è) et Shawn Dos Santos (10è). Rémy Leblanc aurait aussi pu être du nombre puisqu’il partait en finale de la septième place mais un accident a mis fin à sa course, tout comme Daniel Desrosiers. Pro Shifter Jean-François Lafontaine et Christophe Boisclair prenaient part à cette catégorie. Les deux pilotes SRA / Arrow /TM ont fait preuve de leur grande rapidité tout au long de l’événement. « Nous ne roulons pas régulièrement en shifter et on était là pour avoir du plaisir. Les résultats ont été excellents si on nous compare aux pilotes aguerris de shifter qui étaient sur place » de dire Boisclair. Lors de la première qualification, Boisclair a pris la deuxième position alors que Lafontaine obtenait le 4è meilleur temps. Lors de la deuxième qualification, c’était au tour de Lafontaine d’être le plus rapide des deux avec la troisième place et Boisclair cinquième. Lors de la préfinale, Lafontaine était en feu. Après voir perdu une place au premier tour, il survolait la piste et a terminé deuxième derrière Gary Carlton, en plus d’avoir réalisé le temps le plus rapide de la séance. Boisclair a dû abandonner au 4è tour après avoir touché les barrières de sécurité. Lors de la finale, Lafontaine est parti de la première ligne alors que Boisclair est parti de la 17è. Au quatrième tours, Lafontaine roulait en 3è place lorsqu’il a dû abandonner après que son moteur ait saisi. Pendant ce temps, Boisclair continuait à gravir les places et avant la fin du 3è tour, il était déjà 5è. Après avoir roulé un bon moment 5è, il a pu remonter en fin de course et après une longue bataille contre Frank Launi, Boisclair a croisé le fil d’arrivée en deuxième position. Rotax Masters, Rotax DD2 et Rotax Mini-Max: Sébastien Lafond était le seul pilote aux couleurs Arrow dans la catégorie Rotax Masters et a pris le 6è rang lors de la finale. En Rotax DD2, les porte-couleurs Arrow Corey Walsh et William Lalonde ont terminé respectivement 10è et 13è. Dans la catégorie Mini-Max, Richard Rozmarynowicz a pris la 9è position après être parti de la 17è place. La prochaine course à laquelle prendra part l’équipe de SRA Karting est la 4è manche de la Coupe de Montréal qui aura lieu le 7 août prochain à Mont-Tremblant.
