TORONTO KART CLUB MEDIA RACE REVIEW -- July 17, 2010
The Toronto Kart Club held their sixth race for the 2010 season this Saturday, July 17th. The weather was hot and so was the racing.

Along with our club classes we held a Media Race. We had Hugh Burrill, Peter Dworschak and Doug Barker from City TV, Jim Kenzie from the Toronto Star, Jeff Hayward from Toronto Community News, John Penny of MarIndustrial, Nick and Chris Jameson of Level Ten Communications as participants. The Media representatives were given training, then had six minutes practice to get a feel for the track and arrive & drive karts that were supplied by Centennial Park Indy, before they had their race. The green was dropped and the pole sitters froze only to allow the back of the pack to race around them and roar off to start the race. Jim Kenzie took the lead and never looked back, the rest of the field jockeyed for positions throughout the race. Unfortunately for Hugh Burrill, on the 10th lap he was out due to a mechanical failure. The checkered flag flew after 20 laps for Jim Kenzie of the Toronto Star, followed by Nick Jameson, Peter Dworschak, Chris Jameson, and Doug Barker to round out the top five.

Toronto Kart Club would like to thank all the media representatives for participating, and providing an exciting race! We are already looking forward to organizing a similar event in the near future.
