CKN Driver Blog: PSL Moncton Revved Up for Canadian Championships

As this years racing season is coming to an end we have one last hooray, not only is it time for my favorite race of the season but definitely the most memorable race, the ASN Canadian National Karting Championship.

I’m very excited to announce that it will not only be my family and I making the 12-hour haul to the race but 13 other drivers and their families too! PSL Moncton is very proud to be representing such a devoted group of drivers and I’m very excited to introduce some our new drivers!

Briggs Novice
This will be the first year that we have an opportunity to show off some of our younger talent. This years team welcomes five Novice drivers along with us. Starting off the Novice class we have Moncton’s current point leader, William Lowther, the young man originates from Cavendish, PEI. Lowther also currently holds the title as 2015 Atlantic Canadian Driver of the Year. Sporting the number 45 kart we have Callum Baxter from Hammond’s Plains, Nova Scotia.

Callum currently sits fifth only 23 points behind fourth place Myah Knickle. 9 year-old Jacob Leblanc sits second in points, only one short point behind leader William Lowther. Jacob shows lots of team spirit around the track and you can look out for his new fancy haircut at the championship!! Another new face to the game will be kart number 44 Jesse King, Jesse shows great knowledge at the track and will be a name to look out for. Rounding out the field is Myah Knickle, she currently sits 4th in points only a short 16 points behind current leader William Lowther. Myah will also be another driver to keep an eye out for as she is looking to do well after a win at the Montreal Cup.

Briggs Junior
PSL Moncton will be joined by 3 juniors, including myself along with my fellow drivers Issac Teed and Ben Israel. Issac and Ben both show good knowledge of karting and have been improving everyday. For myself, being at this track quite a few times before allows me with some advantages but I’ve been getting focused and I’m feeling ready for this up coming week!

Senior Briggs
Joining along for the adventure we have 6 Seniors joining us. Starting off the field we have currant point leader for the CKRA championship, Brett Miller. This is not Millers first Canadian National rodeo so he will know what to expect and will be on the top of his game. Driving kart number 794 Stephen Oliver will be other racer to keep an eye on. After coming off of a third place finish at the Montreal cup Oliver will be ready to roll for the Canadian Championship. A couple familiar faces joining the crew will be Gerald Caseley from Summerside, PEI joined with Oakville, Ontario’s Kyle Edgar. The two will definitely be some racers to keep
an eye on. Rounding off the class we have Alexander Davison and Aaron Kennedy. Both Davison and Kennedy show good knowledge when it comes to karting and should look to do well this weekend.

PSL Moncton is thrilled to include such an excited, hardworking group this year. As you can see we have a good mixture of drivers and are looking to do well for the championship!!

See you all soon!!
