CKN Driver Blog: Introducing Kelsey Hann

This season we have added a selection of drivers from across the country to blog their karting experiences exclusively on CKN. From rookies to veterans, in both Rotax Max and Briggs & Stratton categories, these drivers will go beyond just their results and elaborate on their struggles and successes. If you are interested in becoming a CKN blogger, please contact info@canadiankartingnews.com

First off, I would like to thank the CKN team for giving me this amazing opportunity to not only blog for the 2016 race season but to be able to share my passion for karting with everyone.

Allow me to introduce myself, my name is Kelsey Hann, I am currently 13 and from New Glasgow, Nova Scotia. I am honored to announce that I will be sharing my karting experiences, plans and stories with you all.

For those of you who don’t know me I would love to share some of my background with you. I starting racing at the age of nine in the Briggs and Stratton Novice class and now I currently race in the Briggs and Stratton Junior class. I am always pleased to call East Coast Karting in Dieppe, New Brunswick my home track! When I stand back and look at how far the karting community has grown in Moncton, it is amazing.

Not only have we grown in size but we have also grown in experience and respect. I’m very proud to call myself a member of the PSL Moncton team!

This past Sunday, the first points race of the season was held at ECK, everyone made the best of a chilly day and we had an awesome day of racing! The Hann racing team was able to come out on top and put a great start to the year!

I plan for this season to be my biggest season yet, not only because we are racing multiple races but also because of the way I have matured not only a person but a racer as well. I am getting very excited for the 2016 ASN Canadian National Championships as this will be my third time and now I know what to expect. I am also very excited to be back racing in the beautiful Mont-Tremblant, Quebec.

This coming weekend I will be participating in round 1 of the Eastern Canadian Karting Championship at Goodwood Kartways. I don’t know what to expect quite yet as this will be my first time there. As always I am getting excited to get back to racing on a bigger track with the more karts! With this being my first time racing on this particular track I am also nervous along with my excitement. I’m always happy to learn new things and race in new places!

So we will see what Goodwood holds for me!

I am really looking forward to an amazing season here sharing my experiences and passion with you all!

See you all soon!
